Habitat for Humanity is a non profit organization that helps build decent housing for those in need. We rely on volunteer labor and donations to build simple and decent shelter. Prospective homeowners are required to put a down payment on a house and also complete 500 hours of "sweat equity". Habitat for Humanity homes are sold to partner families for no profit and no interest. Mortgage payments are used to fund future home projects.
Critical Home Repair seeks to help low-income homeowners restore their homes so they can continue to live in a safe, healthy, decent and affordable home while bringing volunteers together to live out their values by helping a homeowner in need. Updated 1/20/2015! Learn More
Volunteers are always needed throughout the week, and especially on Saturdays, to work on current project homes. No experience is required. Learn new skills, bond with other people in your community, and have fun! Contact Ashlee Williams at 209.509.9026 for more information on how to become a volunteer! Learn More
Habitat accepts donated goods which are sold to the general public at a fraction of the retail price. The proceeds help our local Habitat affiliate fund the construction of Habitat homes within our community. Learn More
Housing Home Dedication
Habitat Westside Offers Open Invitation to Affordable Housing Home Dedication
The new Homeowner is ready. The House is ready for her to take possession. All that has to happen is that the local Habitat office works to plan a special celebration to give our newest Los Banos homeowner a great start to her new life. What’s missing? You!
Habitat Westside Offers Open Invitation to Affordable Housing Home Dedication and Open House. You are invited to celebrate with Habitat for Humanity Westside Merced County and their hardworking qualified homeowner, Mary Tingler and her son at the latest dedication. The festivities are scheduled for:
Saturday, April 18th. Dedication Ceremony at 1 PM. Open House from 10:00AM-2:00PM. At 537 M Street, Los Banos (Off of Main Street)
For those of you who have not seen what happens when a new homeowner- who has been working right alongside the contractors and other volunteers- finally complete the house building part of the project, there is a key ceremony, local supporters of the project wishing the new homeowner well, and then that moving time when the keys are handed to the new homeowner for the first time. It is a magical and thoroughly invigorating experience that sets the tone for the homeowner’s future and all of the future projects for the local affiliate!
Please join us at the Dedication Ceremony on the 18th and join us in welcoming Mary and Doug to the community!
